Electronics Engineers design and develop electronic equipment. This includes all sorts of devices, from portable music players to GPS systems. They are also involved in evaluating new technologies and working to improve existing devices. Electronics engineers that work for the government work on federal electronic devices and systems like satellites, flight systems, radar and sonar systems, and communications systems. To become an electronics engineer, you need a bachelor’s degree. Employers prefer graduates of cooperative engineering programs where students obtain work experience while in school.
